Please join Advocacy For Autism and Autism Society Inland Empire for a complimentary training by Justine Sherman, MA, CCC-SLP, COM on Encouraging Development of Your Child’s Language. This free training will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Israel in Pomona, 3033 N. Towne Avenue.
Ms. Sherman will discuss language development in children, including milestones by age; articulation; bilingualism; language delays and signs of language delays. In addition, she will address how to facilitate language development in your own children with autism and what to do if a speech-language problem is suspected.
Justine Sherman is the Executive Director and Speech-Language Pathologist of Justine Sherman & Associates with clinics in Claremont, Pasadena and Sierra Madre, CA. Ms. Sherman graduated with her MA in Speech-Language Pathology, Suma Cum Laude, from George Washington University and received her BS in Communication Disorders, Magna Cum Laude, from James Madison University. In addition, she has received training in Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime™ approach and Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking®, The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® Program for Reading, Spelling and Speech (LiPS®) and On Cloud Nine® programs. She is also a Certified Orofacial Myologist and specializes in working with clients presenting with orofacial myofunctional conditions including tongue thrusting and TMJ disorders. Ms. Sherman is also knowledgeable in the areas of childhood apraxia of speech, early intervention, Talk Tools®, executive functioning skills and autism.
